About Us
Where every move
is a lesson
At Lotus Chess Academy, we believe chess is more than a game. It builds focus, patience, and confident decision-making. Like the lotus that rises from the water, our students grow steadily, one move at a time.
The academy was founded by Rajaraman, a Certified FIDE Instructor and Senior National Arbiter. Our coaches follow a structured curriculum with regular practice games, puzzle training, and game reviews, so every student knows exactly how they are improving.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions
What is the right age to start chess?
Children can start as early as 5 years old. There is no upper age limit, and we have many adult students too.
My child has never played. Can they join?
Absolutely. Our Beginner program starts from the very basics. We will assess your child in a free demo class and place them in the right batch.
How do online classes work?
Online classes run live over video. Students also log in to the Lotus Classroom, where their board follows the coach's moves in real time. Between classes, they can revisit every lesson and try their own moves.
What if my child misses a class?
Missed classes can be made up by attending another batch at the same level during the same month.
Do you prepare students for rated tournaments?
Yes. Our Advanced program and one-on-one coaching include tournament preparation, and we guide students through FIDE rating registration.
